So is Susie officially joining the ACL family?

How are she and Mia getting along?

Not sure yet. Surprisingly the issues are more between Sasha and Susie. Susie hisses and swats at Sasha sometimes, seems like she feels her territory is being broached. Mia keeps her distance for the most part, watches calmly from her perches. But the three of them have been in the room together several times.

I’m thinking that hopefully we’ll know by the end of March.

Ah, I see what's happening. We sent too much Mia-gets-along-with-Susie mojo, and not enough Sasha-gets-along-with-Susie mojo. Okay, everyone, time to fix that - but don't over-correct and make Mia hate her!

Mojo incoming.

Interesting stuff / Re: You might not find it funny

Fun with signs, good for Ed.

And a very old sign.  I recognize phone numbers written that way, though many people under 50 wouldn't.

Our phone number when I was a kid. Fairview 6 -3590

Originally our number was just 4 digits. Then it became NE4-####, then 634-, then 914-634-, then 1-914-634-.  🙂

At least I don’t personally remember party lines.
I do, but only because my grandparents were on one.  Counting rings to see who it was for and picking up the phone to call out and someone in some other house is talking....  I can remember hearing other people picking up the lines and listening in -- and even MorMor snapping at someone to hang up because this was a private conversation.

Your business was everyone's business if you didn't luck out with your neighbors.

They often include names for acids (citric is there today)
but they missed a good one... tartaric.
I know it from my home ec/organic chemistry classes
so most bakers, among others, wouldn't find it too obscure for inclusion.

Quote
Tartaric acid is a white, crystalline organic acid naturally found in grapes, tamarinds, and bananas, widely used as a food additive, stabilizer, and antioxidant. It provides a sharp, sour taste in beverages, confectionery, and jams. Commonly, it is used with baking soda as a leavening agent (cream of tartar) and is a byproduct of winemaking.

Right?
I tried it, too, but I was pretty sure it wouldn't work.
